The sky grew dim as the clouds rolled in,
The ocean waves grew tall
We turned our eyes up to the skies
As the rain began to fall

We slipped and slid across the deck
We didn't know what to do
We had never sailed in a storm before
Would we wreck or make it through?

So look alive, all hands on deck,
Haul the sheets in tight!
No one knows if we'll survive
On a dark and stormy night!

The lightning flashed and the thunder crashed
The gusts came with such force
Our tiny ship was tossed so hard
She was soon blown clear off course

The night wind howled with a thousand voices
Of sailors who'd come before
Wailing tales of their demise
Now they lie on the ocean floor

We fought that storm the whole night through
Soaked right down to our bones
